Abstract

Yin/Yang is a root metaphor in Chinese cultural tradition. As a kind of pre-modern wisdom, it has been used to explain the originality of everything in the universe by Taoists, who had developed Chinese traditional organic sciences on the basis of such a cosmology, but it is unlikely for them to develop any modern mechanic science with Yin/Yang thinking. If Chinese social scientists are able to construct scientific micro worlds with a comprehensive understanding on the Western philosophy of science, then Yin/Yang thinking may become a kind of post-modern wisdom which may help Chinese managers to deal with various problems of management in their life worlds.
