Abstract In the context of transition economies, the discrepancy of ownership type and firm size will inevitably lead to the different development of enterprises, which provides a platform for the development of the entrepreneurship in China. Based on the resource and capability perspective, the paper explores the different develop models of entrepreneurship in China, and concludes that the large private enterprises are the most conducive, while the large stateowned enterprises are not to the development of entrepreneurship. Meanwhile, the effect of small businesses to the entrepreneurship’s development is analyzed. Moreover, the contributions and limitations are discussed.
