Theoretical Analysis and Empirical Test on the Influencing Mechanism of Industry-University-Research Deep Integration on Key-Core Technology Breakthrough Performances of Leading Enterprises

Abstract: Based on the unbalanced panel data of A-share listed enterprises in the list of “2020 Chinese Top 500 Manufacturing Enterprises”, this study theoretically analyzes and empirically tests the impacts of industry-university-research (IUR) deep integration on key-core technology breakthrough performances of leading enterprises from two dimensions, namely IUR integration depth and IUR integration intensity, together with the moderating effect of direct and indirect government support. The results show that: firstly, both the depth and intensity of the integration of IUR show significantly positive impacts on key-core technology breakthrough performances of leading enterprises. Secondly, both direct government support and indirect government support strengthen the positive impacts of IUR integration depth on key-core technology breakthrough performances of leading enterprises. Thirdly, both direct government support and indirect government support weaken the positive impacts of IUR integration intensity on key-core technology breakthrough performances of leading enterprises.
