Abstract:Communities formed with knowledge as ties have become an important carrier of knowledge transmission and creation. This study explores the relationship among knowledge social mechanism, community relationship structure and community knowledge collaboration, using the methods of computational experimentation. The results show that social mechanisms determine the structure of community relationship, which in turn affects the community knowledge collaboration. The “random-knowledge-social-mechanism” is most conducive to the improvement of community’s knowledge stock and learning ability, and the “popular-knowledge-social-mechanism” is most conducive to the improvement of community’s innovation ability. The uniformity of relationship distribution is positively related to the community’s knowledge stock and learning ability, and negatively related to the community’s innovation ability. Within the community, the breadth of individual relationships is positively related to an individual’s knowledge stocks and learning abilities, and negatively related to an individual’s innovation abilities.
