Abstract:To keep up with the contemporary social development, this study is designed to explore the behavioral structure and the construct of transformational leadership in Chinese context, and to further develop the Chinese Transformational Leadership Questionnaire (CTLQ). Results shows that Chinese transformational leadership model is a secondary fourfactor model, including idealized influence, inspirational motivation, individual consideration and intellectual stimulation, which accords with the western theory. Furthermore, each of these four factors could be divided into two dimensions. This study amends the definition of Chinese transformational leadership and the results of reliability and validity analyses both reveal that the CTLQ has met psychometrics requirements.
