Abstract: Objective To explore the effect of intraoperative intubation of nasointestinal tube with GlideScope videolaryngoscope for patients with gastric cancer. Methods Eighty patients with total gastrectomy from March to September 2017 were randomly divided into observation group and control group, with 40 cases in each group. Conventional blind nasal intubation of nasointestinal tube was conducted in the control group but intubation with GlideScope videolaryngoscope in the observation group. Intubation time, one-time success rate of the intubatoin, incidence of nasal bleeding and throat pain of patients at the day of the operation in the 2 groups were compared. Results There was no difference in terms of time for the intubation (P>0.05). The one-time success rate of the intubatoin was higher but the incidence of nasal bleeding was lower and patients suffered less throat pain in the observation group (P<0.05). Conclusion Intraoperative placement of nasointestinal tube with GlideScope videolaryngoscope for patients with gastric cancer is effective for improving the one-time success rate of the intubatoin and reducing the incidence of nasal bleeding and throat pain.
