Abstract: Objective To construct a nursing need protocol for cancer patients treated with immune checkpoint inhibitors, and to provide reference for improving the quality of life and treatment compliance, and reducing the incidence of adverse events. Methods A research team was set up. The draft of nursing need protocol for cancer patients treated with immune checkpoint inhibitors was informed by an initial survey and literature review, integrating Perspectives from Existence, Relatedness and Growth (ERG) theory, and the final protocol was refined through two rounds of Delphi expert correspondence. Results The recovery rate of the 2 rounds of expert correspondence was both 100%; authority coefficient was 0.845 and 0.862; and Kendall's harmony coefficient 0.205 and 0.157 (P<0.001) respectively. The final protocol consisted of 6 first-level, 12 secondary-level, and 39 third-level indicators. Conclusion The nursing need protocol for cancer patients receiving immune checkpoint inhibitor therapy constructed based on ERG theory is scientific and practical, and provides reference for the nursing for cancer patients treated with immune checkpoint inhibitors.
