Abstract: Objective To explore the effect of comprehensive unit-based safety program (CUSP) in the safety management of oral medication in patients with coronary heart disease (CHD). Methods From October 2021 to October 2022, 130 CHD patients were selected as the research objects, and the safety management plan for oral medication was formulated and implemented according to CUSP. Oral Medication Safety Questionnaire for Patients and Caregivers, the Morisky Medication Compliance Questionnaire, and the revised Chinese version of Safety Attitudes Questionnaire were used to evaluate the effect before and at the end of six month of the intervention. Results After the intervention, the score of oral medication safety of patients and caregivers and that of patients' medication compliance were higher than those before the intervention (P<0.001), and the number of cases with medication errors was lower than that before the intervention (P<0.001). The average score of teamwork, safety atmosphere, management perception, job satisfaction, working conditions, stress perception and cultural atmosphere of medical staff in the intervention group was higher than that before the intervention (P<0.001). Conclusion CUSP can improve the safety of oral medication ad medication compliance of CHD patients and their caregivers, enhance the treatment effect of patients, and the safety culture awareness of the medical staff.
