Current Status of Workplace Adjustment of New Nurses with Bachelor Degree orabove and Its Influence Factors: A 471-case Study

Abstract: Objective To investigate the current situation of workplace adjustment of new nurses with bachelor degree or above, and analyze the influence factors. Methods With convenience sampling,from February to March 2021, new nurses with bachelor degree or above were selected from the First Hospital of the University of Science and Technology of China, and they were surveyed by using the general informationquestionnaire, the Chinese version of the Mental Climate Short Form Scale and the Workplace Adjustment Scale for Nurses, and multiple linear regression was used to analyze the influence factors of workplace adjustment of the nurses. Results The total score of workplace adjustment of 471 new nurses with bachelor degree or above was 55.93±10.86; Multiple linear regression analysis showed that the total score of birthplace, Party members or not, working time, and mental climate entered the regression equation (P<0.05), explaining 49.6% of the total variance. Conclusion Workplace adjustment of new nurses with bachelor degree or above in this group is in the middle or upper level, and nursing managers should focus on nurses from rural areas, non-Party members, shorter working time and low mental climate.Positive guidance and psychosocial support, and positive mental climate of working environment are beneficial to improving workplace adjustment of new nurses.
