Abstract: Objective To summarize the best evidence for blood glucose management in ICU adult patients to provide reference for clinical practice. Methods We searched Up To Date, JBI, BMJ Best Practice, Cochrane Library, Guidelines International Network(GIN), National Institute for Health and Care Excellence,(NICE), Scottish Intercollegiate Guidelines Network(SIGN), National Guideline Clearinghouse(NGC), Registered Nurses Association of Ontario(RNAO), Society of Critical Care Medicine(SCCM), PubMed, EMBASE, Springer, CNKI, Wangfang and VIP to collect clinical decisions, guidelines, evidence summaries, expert consensus related to blood glucose management of adult patients in ICU. Through literature quality evaluation, evidence was extracted from the literature that met the quality standards. Results A total of 11 articles were selected: 1 clinical decision, 4 guidelines, 4 expert consensuses and 2 evidence summaries. Nineteen pieces of best evidence were obtained including 7 aspects of blood glucose control goals, blood glucose monitoring, hyperglycemia management, hypoglycemia management, sepsis patient management and quality control. Conclusion Blood glucose management plays a crucial role in ICU and best evidence summary of blood glucose management provides reference for clinical practice.
