Organizational Modularity and Dynamic Capabilities: An Exploratory Case Study on GiantKONE Elevator Company

Abstract  

With an embedded singlecase study on a typical joint venture in the rapidly developing elevator industry of China, this article investigates the relationships between modular structure and dynamic capabilities. The research results unveil the causes of the fact that organizational modularity increased first and dynamic capabilities increased later. Finally, it further puts forward the proposition that organizational modularity have positive effect on the development of dynamic capabilities.
