The paper reviews the literature about concepts, theories and applications of teams, self-organization, and self-organizing teams. The features of self-organizing teams are analyzed in details including opening-up, self-determination, adaptation, complexity, non-linearity and dynamics on the basis of the literature review. This study establishes the foundation for the theoretical research of self-organizing teams.
