Abstract Although there are many papers on the Chinese traditional management history, the level of research is very unsatisfactory. From the perspective of the research object, some research emphasizes on macroeconomic management or administration thought history. From the perspective of the research principles, there is no emphasis on historical data research. Researchers do not pay attention to the conditions and background of the times and management thought evolution. The research in Chinese management thoughts history has its own chrematistics and is difficult to be classified into the existing management subject. The author argues that an independent specialty should be set up for the development of the research in Chinese management thoughts history.
