Abstract Based on the theory of collaborative evolution, a stochastic actor-oriented model from the perspective of innovation subject and technology is constructed using the collaborative invention patent data of the new energy vehicle industry. The mechanism of the collaborative innovation network and the importance differences of the influencing factor are analyzed. The results show that: both collaborative networks are weak, which is mainly due to the high variability of innovation subject and technology type. Compared to the technological collaborative network, the subject collaborative network has stronger stability and higher collaborative intensity. Both internal and external factors drive the evolution of collaborative innovation networks. External factors have a greater impact on changes in network relationships during evolution than internal factors, and network closure and cognitive proximity are the most important factors. Assortativity and closure influence the propensity of the Matthew effect to influence network evolution, and there is no mutually reinforcing relationship between them. The influence of external and internal drivers on each other will change the degree of influence and the propensity during network evolution.
