Abstract  Based on the social information processing model, combined with the data analysis of 329 matched valid questionnaires from 65 teams in two periods, this paper studies the influence mechanism of the interaction between collective moral ownership and individual reputation maintenance concern on employees’ taking charge behavior. The results show that collective moral ownership has a significant positive impact on employees’ taking charge behavior; Felt obligation plays an intermediary role between collective moral ownership and employees’ taking charge behavior; Reputation maintenance concern has a negative moderating effect on the relationship between felt obligation and taking charge behavior, that is, the higher the degree of reputation maintenance concern, the weaker the positive effect of felt obligation on taking charge behavior, and the effect is stronger when reputation maintenance concern is lower.
