Abstract  Adopting the dimensions of similarity attraction theory, we add negative affect and task interdependence as moderators to explore the mechanism of ingratiation to colleagues on workplace ostracism. Through a survey towards employees of 12 enterprises and institutions, we found that: (1)ingratiation to colleagues has significant negative effect on workplace ostracism; (2)negative affect has negative moderating effect on the main effect; (3)task interdependence has positive moderating effect on the main effect.
