Occupational Embeddedness: Concept, Measurement, Research Advance and Stage Characteristics

Abstract  The present study applied the Embeddendess from working area to occupational area. Ng and Feldman(2007) proposed the concept of Occupational Embeddedness, which included the various dependent relationships of employees in the current occupation. First of all, this study analyzed the connotation, structure, and content of each dimension in Occupational Embeddness. In addition, it also distinguished the relevance of the similar concepts of organizational behavior. Secondly, it discussed the two types of measurements and summarized the empirical researches in this area. Finally, based on the career theory, this study discussed the characteristics of the employees in different stages. This study prospected for future research on occupational embeddeness.
