Abstract  Management case studies (MCS) are used to explore the regular pattern of management and to develop corresponding theories by standardized case studies. Statistical analysis on the literature about MCS in peer reviewed academic journals and two influential Forums on MCS held in China indicates an increasing publication on this topic and gradually standardized research schema in the past years. However, compared with the studies on MCS abroad, there is a big gap, especially in terms of developing new theories, study methods and depths. This paper aims to foresee the trend of MCS research in China, thus to regulate the process of case studies. It focuses on the development of a set of localized management theory, by means of multiple-case studies in Chinese context and enriches management theories to guide management practices.
