Abstract Based on the perspective of knowledge interaction among regional innovation organization and the panel data of 30 provinces from 2001~2011 in China, this study investigated the impact of regional knowledge management on regional innovation capability using regional knowledge absorption, knowledge corporation and knowledge diffusion as the analytical variables. The results indicate that: the regional knowledge absorption measured by the contract value of introduction of foreign technology, and the regional knowledge corporation between universities or research institutes and enterprises have a significant positive effect on the regional innovation capability. The regional knowledge diffusion which adopts the contract inflows of technical markets as the indicator has also a significant positive effect on the regional innovation capability. However, the technology introduction of industrial enterprises above designated size has a negative effect on the regional innovation capability, and it must enhance the assimilation and absorption of the technology and to improve the technical efficiency .The contract deals in domestic technical markets have no impacts on the regional innovation capability, and it shows that the enterprises must improve the quality of deals in domestic technical markets and promote the role of the technical markets to serve regional innovation.
