An Integrative Conceptual Framework of Context and of Firm Characteristic |

Abstract The explanation for Chinese firms’ strategic behavior of either Chinese context or firm characteristic cannot provide effective guide for optimizing firm strategic behavior. Based on the theoretical research on relevant literatures, this paper integrates the two independent explanations of context characteristic and firm characteristic, analyzes the interaction between the context and organizational characteristics and thus raises a conceptual framework that interprets Chinese firms’ strategic behavior so as to provide more effective theoretical guide for optimizing strategic behaviors and specially for improving the international competitiveness of Chinese firms under the circumstance of the interaction between economic globalization and economic transition in China.
