Abstract Through the empirical analysis of the United States standardization system, we can conclude that, technologydriving is the basic characteristics; legal convergence is the fundamental guarantee and cogovernance is the core philosophy. We argue that the standardization in China is now at a period of transition and the United States standardization system can provide relevant experiences and enlightenments to us.
