Abstract It is very valuable that employees perform prosocial behavior, such as cooperation, for the health operation of enterprises and the good relationship between enterprises and their customers. To some degree, leader’s words and behavior influence follower’s behavior. The frontline employees and their leaders in Taiwan’s service industry are the research sample in this paper. It is found that selfsacrificial leadership has a positive effect on follower’s prosocial behavior; and from the (vertical and horizontal) dyadic linkage perspective, LMX and TMX both moderate the above relationship positively; meanwhile, from the perspective of followercentered approach, the above relationship is also strengthened by employee’s ingratiatory motivation. Some practical implications, research limitation and future direction are summarized in the end.
