Abstract  Through the survey on a large sample of visiting scholars dispatched to other countries to do cooperative research, including those studying abroad, it is found that, motivational cultural intelligence is positively related to all three dimensions of crosscultural adjustment (i.e., general adjustment, interactional adjustment and work adjustment), while there are positive relationships between metacognitive cultural intelligence and general adjustment, and between cognitive cultural intelligence and interactional adjustment. Additionally, it is also found that culture novelty has a positive effect on all three dimensions of crosscultural adjustment.
