The best evidence summary for bereavement management in families with pregnancy loss

Abstract: Objective To comprehensively retrieve,evaluate and summarize the best evidence for bereavement management in families with pregnancy loss, and to provide evidence-based reference for establishing practice standard for bereavement management in families with pregnancy loss. Methods According to the 6S evidence model,literature on bereavement management of families with pregnancy loss, including clinical decision, guideline, evidence summary, systematic review and expert consensus and expert opinion was systematically searched from domestic and foreign databases and related websites from the inception to October 2023. Two researchers independently evaluated literature quality and extracted and summarized the evidence. Results A total of 11 articles were collected, including 2 expert consensus guidelines,5 evidence summaries,3 systematic reviews,and 1 expert consensus,with 17 pieces of best evidence summarized from 5 aspects: the establishment of bereavement care multidisciplinary team,management of pregnancy loss during diagnosis,management during abortion,induction of labor or delivery,management during subsequent pregnancy loss,and support for bereavement management staff. Conclusion This research summarizes the best evidence for bereavement management in families with pregnancy loss,providing an evidence-based basis for clinical practice.
