Abstract: Objective To construct a “Lifetime Flower” system of ideological and political education in the course of Advanced Practice Nursing, and to address the existing problems in ideological and political education of the course. Methods The “Lifetime Flower” system of ideological and political education was constructed for the course of Advanced Practice Nursing after conducting research and analysis on the current situation of students, and combing through the inadequacies of traditional ideological and political education. The newly-constructed system was implemented in nursing postgraduates of grade 2022. Results This system tackled some key issues in traditional ideological and political education, and students benefited greatly from the learning. Great success was achieved in moral education, generating positive results in scientific research and innovation, and exerting profound influence on the faculty team. After the implementation of the system, the score of humanistic literacy, professional identity and examination was all higher than that before and higher than that of students receiving traditional teaching (all P<0.05). Conclusion This system provides reference for cultivating high-quality nursing masters that meet the needs outlined in national health strategies and serve the health needs of the people.
