Compilation of objective structured assessment cases of nursing undergraduate interns based on clinical thinking

Abstract: Objective To develop a set of objective structured clinical examination (OSCE) assessment cases for nursing undergraduate interns based on clinical thinking. Methods The OSCE assessment cases of nursing undergraduate interns were prepared by setting up a compiling group, collecting typical real cases of clinical departments and conducting on-site expert consultation. Experts and students evaluated the case quality by using case evaluation form and Simulation Instructional Design Scale respectively. Results Twenty-eight OSCE assessment cases of nursing undergraduate interns were collected, which basically covered the typical cases and operating skills of 14 kinds of disease systems. Six dimensions in the case evaluation form scored higher than 4, and 5 dimensions in the Simulation Instructional Design Scale scored higher than 4.5. Conclusion The overall quality of 28 OSCE assessment cases of nursing undergraduate interns is high, which is suitable for nursing clinical assessment.
