Development of Comprehensive Geriatric Assessment Indicator System Based on Omaha System

Abstract: Objective To develop a feasible comprehensive geriatric assessment indicator system for hospitalized elderly inpatients. Methods On the basis of Omaha system, a comprehensive geriatric assessment indicator system was developed after literature review, clinical survey and expert interview. Two rounds of Delphi consultation were performed in 15 experts in geriatric nursing. Results The effective recovery rate of the two rounds of expert consultation was 100%, and 93% respectively, and expert authority coefficient 0.845. After two rounds expert consultation, Kendall’s W of first-level, second-level and third-level indicators was 0.272,0.204, and 0.207 respectively（P<0.01）. The final developed comprehensive geriatric assessment indicator system included 4 first-level, 22 secondary-level and 125 third-level indicators. Conclusion With high enthusiasm and authority and good concordance of experts, the comprehensive geriatric assessment indicator system could be used as a tool to comprehensively evaluate the elderly inpatients.
