Ideological and Political Theories Teaching in Gynecology and Obstetrics Nursing from Perspective of “Three Main Focuses”

Abstract: Objective To explore the effects of ideological and political theories teaching in Gynecology and Obstetrics Nursing from the perspective of “Three Main Focuses”. Methods Teaching reform of ideological and political theories teaching in the course of Gynecology and Obstetrics Nursing for nursing undergraduates was performed in 2019. The reform focused on teachers as the main force, curriculum construction as the main battlefield and classroom teaching as the main channel, and the following measures had been taken: strengthening teachers' consciousness and ability of ideological and political theories teaching, improvement of ideological and political theories teaching system, development of two modules entitled “LOVE”and “HEART”, and multiple teaching methods. Results In the evaluation of students and supervisors, the average score of teachers' moral education ability were improved after the reform, and the teaching group was awarded for the reform. Students interacted actively in the classroom and online learning. Students scored over 80 in mid-term and final exams averagely and 80% of the students scored over 90 in terms of ideological and political literacy. Conclusion Ideological and political theories teaching in Gynecology and Obstetrics Nursing from the perspective of “Three Main Focuses”help to improve teachers' competence of ideological and political theories teaching, stimulate students' learning motivation, improve learning effects and ideological and political literacy.
