Best Evidence Summary of Intraoperative Temperature Measurement in Surgical Patients

Abstract: Objective To obtain the evidence of intraoperative temperature measurement in patients undergoing surgery at home and abroad, and summarize the best evidence. Methods We searched databases including Up To Date, Cochrane Library, BMJ, NGC, PubMed, SCCM, NICE, JBI, CINAHL, Medline, Yimaitong, CNKI, Wanfang database systematically, for evidence about the temperature measurement methods in patients with surgery. According to the inclusion and exclusion criteria, two researchers conducted independent quality evaluation, evidence extraction and summary of the literature. Results A total of 12 pieces of literature were found, including 2 guidelines, 2 expert consensus, 5 systematic reviews, 1 best practice information book, and 2 evidence summaries. The collected evidence was summarized and 18 pieces of best evidences were finally integrated into 4 domains. Conclusion Nasopharyngeal temperature is the best temperature measurement method for patients with nasopharyngeal surgery, excluding the best temperature measurement for patients with nasopharyngeal surgery. Bladder temperature was the best way to measure temperature in patients undergoing nasopharyngeal surgery. There is a high risk of hypothermia in the operating room, so real-time monitoring of body temperature during operation can prevent postoperative complications and improve the quality of life.
