Effect of Ginger-separated Moxibustion on Blood Coagulation after Laparoscopic Radical Resection of Colorectal Cancer

Abstract: Objective To investigate the effect of ginger-separated moxibustion on coagulation function after laparoscopic radical resection of colorectal cancer. Methods Totally 96 patients with colorectal cancer undergoing laparoscopic radical resection were divided into control group (n=48) and experimental group (n=48). The patients in the two groups were given routine postoperative care and the experimental group was given ginger moxibustion additionally. The changes of coagulation function were compared between the two groups 1 day before, 1 day and 7 days after the operation. Results The comparison of prothrombin time (PT) and activated partial thromboplastin time (APTT) between the two groups showed significant difference in terms of group effect, time effect and interaction (P<0.05). The group effect and time effect of antithrombin III (AT3) were significantly different between the two groups (P<0.05), but no difference was found in terms of interaction between groups (P>0.05). The time effect of thrombin time (TT), fibrinogen (FIB) and D-dimer were significantly different between the two groups (P<0.05), but there was no significant difference in group effect and interaction(P>0.05). Conclusion Ginger-separated moxibustion affects blood coagulation function and effectively improve the hypercoagulability of patients after laparoscopic radical resection of colorectal cancer.
