Acupoint Selection Rules of Auricular Plaster Therapy for Postoperative Pain Based on Data Mining

Abstract: Objective To explore the common auricular points of auricular plaster therapy(APT) for postoperative pain and the acupoint selection rules for postoperative pain for patients from different departments based on data mining technology. Methods The keywords of ‘auricular point sticking', ‘auricular point pressing beans', ‘auricular point burying beans',‘auricular point burying seeds',‘auricular point pressing seeds',‘auricular point pressing pills',‘Wang Buliuxing seeds',‘postoperative pain',and ‘postoperative analgesia' were retrieved, and the literature of APT in postoperative pain in SinoMed,VIP Database,Wanfang Database, CNKI, PubMed, EMbase, and Web of Science were collected. Excel 2010 was used to establish auricular prescription database and SPSS Modeler 18.0 to analyze auricular compatibility association rules. Results A total of 339 articles were included, including 78 auricular points. The most frequently-used auricular points for postoperative pain were Shenmen(20.8%), Pizhixia (14.2%) and Jiaogan (14.1%). In addition, the common auricular points for postoperative pain in anorectal patients included Gangmen and Zhichang ; that in orthopedic patients Gan and Shen; that in general surgery were Gan and Dachang, and in obstetrics and gynecology Neifenmi and uterus. Conclusion Shenmen, Pizhixia and Jiaogan are the most frequently-used auricular points in APT for postoperative pain. Acupoint selection for postoperative pain in patients from different departments is mainly based on Zangxiang point selection and lesion location, supplemented by syndrome differentiation and acupoint matching according to viscera pathogenesis.
