This paper starts from the basic process of the technology innovation, analyses the IPR characters of the modern biotechnology enterprises in different stages of the innovation process, constructs an model combining the IPR strategies and the innovation process of the modern biotechnology, discusses the different IPR strategies which should be adopted by the modern biotechnology enterprises in different innovation stages. It is expected to contribute to the practice of the IPR protection of the modern biotechnology enterprises.
