Abstract There are three mega trends of development of modern organizations: fast changing and complex environment, complex networking structure, and self actualization employees, which bring challenges to traditional management control. Through literature review, we find the traditional management control pursues rational design by goals settings, information collecting, and control mechanisms. However, this mode could not answer the challenges faced by modern organizations. In the light of Chinese traditional culture, system views, and organization research, we develop HeXie Management Theory, and its control thought of combining rational design and environment enabled autonomous evolution to realize HeXie theme.
