The bringing up convergence and developments of its concepts were summed, based on literature methods.  The concepts of absolute β convergence, conditional β  one, club one, and σ one were distinguished and a variety of identifying methods of them was summarized.  The research results from many countries and regions were generalized. The conflicts and concessions between convergence theories and traditional theories were analyzed. Further developments and trends of convergence research were also described.
