This Paper set up a multi-echelon inventory model of component commonality to analyze the inventory level and the related cost. And the model is proposed to make the decision of which process stage should use common component, which is through the compare the cost between using and not using. Also, this model is helpful to solve the optimized base stock level for that stage.
