Abstract Aimed at the uncertainties of discarded products disassembly, being different from the hypothesis the disassembly is certain, a stochastic network model for the disassembly of discarded products is proposed, in which the disassembly was divided into two scenarios: mid-node disassembly and leaf node disassembly. The mean yield rates and disassembly time of each procedure can be determined by an analytic method. Taking a mobile phone as an example, its disassembly tree was drawn out, by which a stochastic disassembly network that contains all the possible disassembly outcomes was drawn.
