A supernetwork is a network that is “above and beyond” existing network.  Theories and applications emerging in recent years were reviewed.  The concept and characteristics of the supernetwork and  existing analytical methods for hypernetwork that are based on  variational inequality and hypergragh approaches were introduced.  The future developments of the hypernetwork in theories and applications were also discussed.
