Abstract To satisfy its technological learning need, Chinese firms always select the purchasing mode when entering the technological advanced countries. The problems of this mode are summarized by reviewing the related literatures. The ECKT model is built. Through the study on the case of BOE group purchasing HYDIS Company in South Korea, the mutual strategic motivation and evolution of conflicts are explored and some typical events are summarized. The effect of cultural conflict and knowledge integration in the purchasing process is analyzed. The importance of lowrisk entry mode from dynamic perspective is highlighted.
