Abstract Based on classification and comparison of the main definitions of strategic change, and systemic review on the measurement of strategic change, the paper proposes a new definition and promotes a conceptual model of strategic change by making use of part of 'differential characters' of definitions and issues of measurement tools of strategic change in the past. It develops a measurement scale on strategic change, which comprises of two dimensions and twenty measurement issues, and has better reliability and validity with Chinese firm samples tested.
