A Literature Review on Gamified Human Resource Management in the Digital Era

Abstract  Although the research on gamified HRM has developed rapidly in recent years, there is still a lack of systematic review to clarify its conceptual connotation, sort out its antecedents and outcomes, and draw the theoretical framework. This study provides a systematic review of gamified HRM through a structured literature review method and a content analysis method. The following results were obtained: the concept of gamified HRM is defined; the development history of gamified HRM is clarified; the theoretical framework of gamified HRM research is sorted out; and the antecedents and outcomes of gamified HRM are summarized. On this basis, this study puts forward suggestions for future research from the perspectives of deep integration of application scenarios, fine exploration of gamification elements, and enrichment of theoretical mechanisms.
