Abstract  Using a two-wave survey data of 130 growing firms in China, this study empirically tests the effect of IT competency on organizational resilience and the moderating effect of different internal and external factors. The results show that IT competency is positively and significantly related to organizational resilience. Further evidence shows that when competitor turbulence or demand uncertainty is high, the positive effect of IT competency on resilience will be enhanced. Moreover, when the firm size is larger, the positive effect of IT competency on resilience will be stronger.
