Abstract  Based on the role theory, this study took Wanda Changbai Mountain Tourism Resort as the research object and used the research method of grounded theory to explore the shared roles and shared timings of shared leadership in the context of environmental uncertainty. The study reveals that there are essential differences in the shared roles of shared leadership in the context of environment uncertainty and environment certainty. These differences arise from the diverse sources of environmental uncertainty and the dynamic, complex, and multifaceted nature of environmental uncertainty itself. Specifically, the shared roles of shared leadership in the context of environmental uncertainty are complex. With the goal of realizing the problematization mechanism, group employees shared eight different leadership roles with different functions during the process of implementing shared leadership in the context of environmental uncertainty. Furthermore, group employees dynamically shared these eight roles through a combination of simultaneous and rotated sharing timings.
