Abstract Based on social exchange theory and the perspective of psychological contract, this study discusses the influence mechanism of illegitimate tasks on turnover intention of employees and examines the mediation role of psychological contract violation, as well as the moderation role of justice sensitivity and authoritarian leadership. Through analyzing the questionnaire data from 330 front-line employees, the results show that illegitimate tasks positively affect turnover intention of employees, and psychological contract violation mediates the relationship between illegitimate tasks and turnover intention; Justice sensitivity and authoritarian leadership can strengthen the impact of illegitimate tasks on psychological contract violation, and further moderate the mediating effect of psychological contract violation between illegitimate tasks and turnover intention of employees. On this basis, the mediating effect of psychological contract violation between illegitimate tasks and turnover intention of employees is strengthened even more under the condition of relatively high justice sensitivity and high authoritarian leadership.
