Abstract The use of psychological scales and financial data to measure entrepreneurial orientation(EO) is limited by common method variance and endogenous data, whereas using English-translated Chinese wordlists to analyze Chinese texts has risks such as inaccurate measurements. Based on this, drawing on the previously recommended procedures to enhance construct validity when using computer-aided text analysis(CATA), this study develops a five-dimensional EO Chinese wordlist using CATA, combined with deductive, inductive, and manual text coding methods, and tests the Chinese wordlist’s reliability and validity. The research results show that the EO Chinese wordlist meets the statistical requirements in terms of external validity, reliability, dimensionality, and predictive validity.
