Abstract Based on the ambidexterity innovation papers published in the core database of WOS from 1991 to 2020, this paper presents a visual quantitative and qualitative content overview of ambidexterity innovation research. First, this study presents an overview of ambidexterity innovation research in terms of literature, cooperative network, publication platform, and key node literature. Then, this study summarizes the basic logic of ambidexterity innovation, refines the four relationships of ambidexterity innovation, and builds an integrated research framework. Finally, by comparing representative Chinese and English literatures, forward suggestions are proposed that ambidexterity innovation in the Chinese context should be carried out based on the perspectives of interdisciplinary, multi-level and multi-factor interaction, multi-research methods and digital drive.
