Abstract  Drawing on the hedonic adaptation theory, this study usedmulti-level liner growth model to examine the short-term and long-term changes of entrepreneurs’ well-being after they started up the business and the moderating role of educational level. Data came from China Family Panel Studies (CFPS) 2010~2018, and this study yielded 5 wave-pair data points from 2 610 entrepreneurs. Before engaging in entrepreneurial activities, entrepreneurs’ well-being level showed a natural upward trend. From the dimension of well-being, the social status and future confidence of entrepreneurs have been significantly improved instantly. With time passed by, the development trend of social status perception and future confidence slowed down compared with the natural trends. Meanwhile, the well-being development trend of entrepreneurs with high education levels, including happiness, life satisfaction, social status, and future confidence slowed down more drastically.
