A sample of 358 chronic disease patients is empirically analyzed. Results show that role stress leading to patients’ coping strategy (doctor-patient relationship maintenance and health management ability promotion) and generating an increased level of mobile medical payment willingness. Meanwhile, whether and to what extent role stress affecting behavioral outcomes depends on chronic disease patients’ primary appraisal and secondary appraisal.
