Abstract Based on the adaptability theory of shared leadership and competency theory, this paper explores the construction of shared leadership competency,and investigates the mechanism of shared leadership competency on shared leadership, team creativity and team organizational citizenship behavior. Using the data from 340 employees in 82 work teams,the results revealed that shared leadership competency,which consists of participation capability,motivation capability and influence capability,has positive effects on team creativity and team organizational citizenship behavior;shared leadership mediated the effects of shared leadership competency on team creativity and team organizational citizenship behavior. Furthermore,team participatory safety significantly strengthened the positive effect of shared leadership competency on shared leadership. That is, the higherteam participatory safety, the stronger positive effect of shared leadership competency on shared leadership.
