The Impact of Online Reviews Dynamic Deviations on Review Helpfulness

Abstract  Based on accessibility-diagnosticity theory, the study explores the question how dynamic deviations and expertise of online reviews effects the quality of reviews, and constructs the framework model of online reviews being affected by rating consistency, sentiments skewness, product type difference and expertise. The hotel online reviews data from qunar.com are collected and analyzed by negative binomial regression. The results show that rating consistency and sentiment skewness have an impact on usefulness of reviews, and expertise of reviews is moderator on rating consistency.
