Abstract  This paper takes the management practices of Huawei CEO REN Zhengfei as a case study and conducts textual analyses of approximately 314,000 words of transcripts from a total of 27 media interviews that REN gave from January to August 2019. We summarize REN’s strategic actions in response to environmental uncertainty within a holistic framework and analyze it from the perspective of CODES leadership theory. Research findings show that REN Zhengfei’s strategic actions to cope with environmental uncertainty includes building a lasting uncertain environment for enterprises, promoting the implementation of bottom-line, R&D-driven, business-focused, open cooperation, ecological symbiosis and other strategies for corporate development, as well as promoting the formation of synergy among corporate culture strategy, human resource management strategy, public strategy and development strategy to enhance the core competitiveness of the enterprise in an uncertain environment.
